「戒網」 The Precept and the web (Metaphor for the two)

男：山海半生漂泊 一葉孤舟， Man: Adrift and alone like a leaf, half a lifetime across mountains and seas

女：天地兩世零落 幾處離愁， Woman: Scattered into two realms like Heaven and Earth, how heartbreaking the parting is

男：本是一處同飛鳥 餘生無所求， Man: Expected to be lovebirds staying together, and ask for nothing more

女：空把青絲等白頭， Woman: Wait till the hair turn white just for nothing

男：清泉無垢倒映著 我的心， Man: Clear spring is reflecting my heart

女：恨到歸時方始休， Woman: Remorse till you come back

男：為何心有靈犀 從來難長久， Man: Why it is always hard to last when people are heart-to-heart

女：得見青天總在雨打風吹後， Woman: Clear sky is always after the storm

男：知我千萬頭緒煩憂， Man: Knowing how distressed I am

女：不知謂我何求， Woman: Yet don't understand, said I am seeking for something 男：可否執子之手， Man: Can we hold our hands and grow old together

女：來抓住我的手， Woman: Come and hold my hand

男：為何相見恨晚 情深卻不壽， Man: Why we have not met earlier, deep love but won't last

女：管他虛情假意花落水自流， Woman: Don't care if this is a lie or not, the flower falls and the (water) stream continues

男：知我千萬頭緒煩憂， Man: Knowing how distressed I am

女：不知謂我何求， Woman: Yet don't understand, said I am seeking for something 合：待盡掃西風去 烏有， Chorus: Wait until everything sweep in the west wind, crumble to dust

男：踏破銀河無覓 玉顏紅袖， Man: Wear out shoes searching across the galaxy, still can't find the beauty

女：尋遍宮闕不見 良人佳偶， Woman: Search across the palace, still don't see the beloved half

男：一夜雨聲多少事 月下強說愁， Man: How many things on the mind at one rainy night, reluctantly talking about grief under the moon

女：紅豆如何敢消受， Woman: How dare to endure the red bean (lovesick)

男：功名休問幾時成 今朝酒， Man: Don't ask what time the mission will be achieved, just drink (wine)

女：更無一個肯回頭， Woman: And no one is willing to turn back

男：縱然意合情投 怎能長相守， Man: Though we get along, how can we stay forever

女：如醉方醒原來情鍾不自由， Woman: If the drunk woke up, will realize love is not free (freedom)

男：世事不如山丘， Man: The world is not like a hill

女：山青不如水秀， Woman: Green of the hill is not like the clearness of water
